No dangerous levels of E.coli found in second consecutive round of water testing

The Smith Mountain Lake Association’s water quality monitoring program found no dangerous levels of E.coli for the second time in its most recent round of tests July 14.

All areas tested were found to be better than the Virginia Department of Health standard for recreational waters. The next sampling will be July 28.

VDH advises swimmers to avoid swimming around ducks or other water fowl or after heavy rain. Swimmers also should avoid getting water in their mouths or noses and should not swim with open wounds or sores.
