Suspects arrested in connection to mail thefts

The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office has arrested four suspects in connection to multiple larcenies from mailboxes recently in the Huddleston and Body Camps areas, according to a press release Maj. J.D. Wilks.

Rebecca Bailey was arrested March 29 and charged with forgery and uttering, larceny of credit cards and obtain money by false pretense. Angela Tuck was arrested March 26 for forgery and uttering. Marvin Layne was arrested March 29 for grand larceny. Eugene “Tommy” Little was arrested March 29 and charged with forgery and uttering, according to the press release.

The individuals are suspected of stealing and later dumping large amounts of opened mail on roads after filtering through it.

Wilks said the investigation is still ongoing and further charges may be forthcoming. He thanked the citizens who helped by providing tips and sharing the information on social media.
