The Smith Mountain Lake Charity Home Tour held its annual kick-off event Dec. 15 to announce the new 2022 board members and the eight charities benefitting from next year’s home tour.
Now in their 31st year, the Charity Home Tour is a staple event that supports critical services for those in need throughout the local communities. With the help of countless volunteers and business sponsorships, the tour has been able to distribute over $4 million to nearly 50 charities.
This year’s charities include the Agape Center, Franklin County Family YMCA, Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County, Helping Hands of Franklin County, SML Good Neighbors, Tackfully Teamed Riding Academy and home tour newcomers Camp Kum-By-Yah and Bedford Ride. Each charity will be assigned to one of the eight homes participating in the home tour. This will be the first year that a repeat home will be on the tour, however, it has had extensive renovations to both the interior and exterior.
The 2022 board members include a mix of returning members as well as many new members that include Liz Harrison, executive director, Sandra Morse, assistant director, Marci Waro, secretary and charity administration, Cathy Huffman, treasurer, Peg Gorman, home selection co-chair, Donna Massa, home selection co-chair, Mike College, events chair, Jessica Byrd, public relations chair, Melissa Scott, publishing chair, Debbie Boisvert, sponsorship management chair, Sharon Williamson, tickets co-chair, Michelle Garvey, tickets co-chair, Kelly Koller, tickets co-chair, Judy Roseveare, home administration co-chair, Andie Smarrelli, home administration co-chair, Lisa DiGiovanni, assistant home administration, Anne Delhommeau, traffic co-chair, and Gilles Delhommeau, traffic co-chair.
